Digital dentures

Digital dentures combine CAD/CAM design, scanning and 3D printing with laboratory expertise to create a structured, customisable workflow for denture cases.

Digital denture workflow

Digital denture production can incorporate scanning, CAD/CAM design and 3D printing. These technologies support a structured approach to design and production, while allowing cases to be digitally recorded. The workflow can also facilitate digital duplication where a suitable reference denture or existing digital record is available.

Scanning

Our digital denture service includes intraoral and reference denture scanning. Digital information can be used alongside the laboratory prescription to support case design and production, providing the technical team with detailed information before manufacture.

Customisation

Digital denture workflows allow detailed customisation of the denture design. Tooth arrangement, gum shaping and characterisation can be considered as part of the prescribed outcome, with different levels of denture tooth and gingival characterisation available according to the selected specification.

Digital duplication

Digital records can support the reproduction of suitable existing designs. This can be particularly useful where a previous denture provides an appropriate reference for the new restoration. The suitability of duplication will depend on the individual case, clinical information and condition of the reference denture.

Characterisation

Denture aesthetics can be influenced by tooth form, gum shaping and colour characterisation. Our brochure outlines different levels of characterisation, from simpler tooth and gum forms through to more detailed tooth shapes, gum shaping and colour staining for a bespoke appearance.

Digital records

Cloud-stored digital records form part of our digital denture service. Maintaining digital case information can support future laboratory workflows where appropriate, while providing a structured record of the design and production information associated with the case.

Materials and design

Our digital denture service includes premium materials alongside CAD/CAM design, 3D printing and digital duplication. Material and design selection remain dependent on the individual prescription and clinical requirements provided by the treating clinician.

Technical support

Digital production does not remove the need for experienced laboratory input. Our technicians combine digital capabilities with traditional prosthetic knowledge, supporting clinicians with case communication and technical considerations throughout the denture workflow.
